Kvaerner Announces Management Changes in North Sea Business Area

Executive vice president Lars Eide has headed up the Stord yard and the business area North Sea (renamed to Contractors Norway) for three and a half years. Going forward, Eide will have a vital role in Kvaerner’s objective to regain a strong position in the home market and be charged with the task of developing winning strategies for selected future target projects.

Steinar Røgenes has been appointed Executive Vice President of the business area Contractors Norway (re-named from North Sea) and head of the Stord yard.

I would like to thank Lars for his accomplishments over the last years in his capacity as executive vice president for the North Sea business area. He has been a vital force in securing a solid order backlog for Kvaerner. I am pleased that Lars will put his industry skills and customer drive into the process of regaining a strong position in the home market”, says President & CEO of Kvaerner, Jan Arve Haugan.

Steinar Røgenes comes from the position as senior vice president in Aker Solutions’ business area for maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) where he has headed the regional office in Bergen. Røgenes has been with the Aker group of companies for more than 20 years and held several management positions, including vice President Finance for Kvaerner at Stord from 2005 to 2010 and business manager for the topside projects Kristin, Valhall and Snorre B from 2000 to 2005. Røgenes holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University.

I am pleased to welcome Steinar to the executive management team in Kvaerner. His in-depth knowledge about complex project execution as well as familiarity with Kvaerner’s organisation at Stord makes me confident that he is the right manager to take this part of the business to the next level”, Haugan concludes.
