Dong Energy Quits on French Offshore Wind Tender

EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN ) could look for another partner for the second French offshore wind power tender as Danish energy giant, Dong Energy, has decided not to take part in this round, writes Les Echos.

The consortium including EDF, Alstom and Dong was selected to develop three out of four areas, Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), Courseulles-sur-Mer (Calvados) and Fecamp (Seine-Maritime), with a total capacity of 1,428 MW.

For the second tender, the companies will be competing for two areas, totaling to 1GW in capacity.

It remains unknown whether the EDF EN and Alstom will look for a new partner.
