DSME to Deliver 6 Floor Living Quarters for Gina Krog Field

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in Korea has awarded the contract for delivery of the Gina Krog (previously Dagny) Living Quarters to Apply. DSME is the topside contractor to Statoil for their Gina Krog field development in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The contract includes delivery of a new 6 floor Living Quarters module with an area of 3600 m2, a capacity of 70 single cabins, offices, recreation areas, change rooms, central control room, helicopter deck and other facilities required for operation of an offshore hotel. The Living Quarters will be constructed in aluminium. Engineering work will commence immediately and delivery is expected in Q2 2016.

The Gina Krog Living Quarters will be engineered and fabricated by Apply Leirvik AS at Stord.

The Gina Krog Living Quarters will be the 21st Living Quarters supplied by Apply to Statoil as operator. Apply LQ and Helidecks is at present also engaged in the delivery of the Living Quarters to the Hebron field development in Canada, the Edvard Grieg field development in Norway and was recently awarded an LOI to deliver the Living Quarters for the Martin Linge field development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
