Tender for Subsea Tunnel Seismic Survey Announced

Tunnel lllustrative Cross Section. ILV-06054-0-02

Statens vegvesen Region vest announced a tender for subsea tunnel seismic survey services with a value between 4 Mln and 6 Mln NOK.

E39 Rogfast is a subsea tunnel between Randaberg and Bokn, with an arm up to Kvitsøy in Rogaland.

Reflection and refraction seismic has already been performed, at sea and on land, together with coring from Kvitsøy and Alstein.

Coring will now be performed from Bokn to reduce project uncertainty with regard to construction costs and construction technical execution.

Coring will be taken from a hole approx. 700m long from Avløybet, about 2km south of Arsvågen ferry terminal in Bokn Municipality, to survey this zone.

In addition, the coring will provide important information about a range of small rock outcrops above the sea level.

The borehole shall have the drilling dimension of Ø76mm, which provides a core dimension of approx. 49mm.

The inclination of the borehole will be approx. 10°, the final hole pathways will be determined once the exact drilling location is determined on Avløybet.

Requirements for hole deviation: ± 7m. This requirement applies to the entire core drill hole. After the completion of coring and water loss measurements, seismic tomography shall be performed in the borehole.

Companies are invited to submit the tenders in Norwegian until March 20, 2013, and the requests for documents deadline is March 13, 2013.
