PSA Norway Carried Out Audit of Stena Drilling

From 4 – 7 December 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of Stena Drilling AS (Stena) and the company’s activities with Stena Don on the Troll field.

The objective of the audit was to verify that Stena ensures compliance with HSE requirements during activities with Stena Don.

 Nonconformities were identified in connection with:

– risk and barrier management

– management system and procedures

– maintenance management

– labelling of equipment

– operation of manual chokes

– overpressure in the driller’s cabin

– person responsible for electrical systems

 Improvement items were identified in connection with:

– training and exercises

– use of CO2 fire-fighting systems

– expertise, training and manning

– manual values in “pit room” and pump room

– labelling of lifting equipment
