Statoil to Use Songa Delta for Stjerne Field Drilling

Statoil Petroleum AS (Statoil) has received consent to use Songa Delta semi-submersible rig for drilling, sidetrack drilling and completion on the Stjerne field.

Statoil will use the rig for drilling, sidetrack drilling and completion on the Stjerne field in production licence 104.

The Stjerne field, previously known as Katla, is situated in the northern part of the North Sea, about 13 kilometres southwest of Oseberg Sør.

Water depth at the site is 103 metres.

AoC for Songa Delta

On 8 November 2012, The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) granted an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for the Songa Delta rig, meaning that the rig is considered to be in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements for petroleum activities.
