EMR to Attract Largest Offshore Wind Investment

A survey undertaken by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer law firm has shown that the Electricity Market Reform (EMR) proposals will pave the way for the largest investment increase to offshore wind, Utility Week news site writes.

The survey covered opinions of around 100 industry executives, of which 77% said that EMR has boosted the investment case for offshore wind. For gas generation, 54% of them think that the EMR proposals have drawn investment and 41% for nuclear power.

Also, 77% of industry executives do not think that EMR will drive the UK to its 2020 energy target.
