CWind Deploys Crew Vessels to London Array, Teesside Offshore Wind Farms

CWind now has more CTruk 20T multi-purpose catamarans operational on the London Array wind farm and Teesside wind farm, bringing the 20T fleet now deployed to seven vessels. These 2 new vessels are working on crew transfer and join a fleet already involved in rescue response, generator management and crew transfer tasks.

Vessel capability is always a key consideration within this increasingly competitive offshore wind support market with CWind working closely with sister company CTruk Boats. CTruk’s innovative composite design & construction delivers a robust, seaworthy vessel. Being much lighter than a comparable aluminium vessel – gives CWind’s fleet a fuel consumption almost half that of other operators. This important advantage together with the vessel’s versatile payload andits ability to undertake multiple tasks at the same time – crew transfer, refuelling, workboat and rescue duties – means that CWind can do more for clients at less cost.

The 20T comfortably accommodates 12 passengers with air-con, TV/DVD, WiFi, DTV, changing area, WC and hanging storage. With the flexible modular pod system, the vessels can be quickly reconfigured to adapt to the tasks in hand, e.g. crew transfer, refuelling, rescue vessel (using the fast response ‘Avenger’ amphibious rescue craft); a survey vessel; a dive support vessel as well as numerous other functions.
