PSA Norway Carries Out Audit of Heidrun Field

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) today announced it had carried out an audit of leadership and management of preparedness on Statoil’s Heidrun field from 3-4 September 2012.

The objective of the audit was to gain an overview of processes and systems that contribute to ensuring comprehensive leadership and management of preparedness on Heidrun.

Nonconformities were identified in relation to the emergency preparedness plan, preparedness measures/barriers

Furthermore, improvement items were identified in relation to lifeboat refresher course, stand-in role and experience transfer.

The oil field in the Norwegian Sea has been producing oil and gas since October 1995 from a floating tension leg platform with a concrete hull. Heidrun was discovered in 1985 by Conoco.
