Siem Offshore Orders PSV from Hellesoy Yard

Norway’s Siem offshore has ordered a Platform Supply Vessel, with an option for one additional vessel, from Hellesoy yard in Norway.

The dual fuel vessel, once delivered, will start a four-year contract, with four one-year options, with Total E&P Norge AS. The contract with the subsidiary of French supermajor Total, is expected to start between May and August 2014.

This is the first long-term Platform Supply Vessel contract Siem Offshore holds with Total in the Norwegian sector.

The vessels will be of VS 4411 DF design with an overall length of 89 meters and a beam of 19 meters and with maximum 5,500 dwt. The ship is designed in collaboration with Wärtsilä Ship Design, and will have a dual fuel system for the use of either LNG or Marine Diesel Oil. The vessel will be equipped with the most modern solutions for fire-fighting and emergency preparedness, a deck of approx. 970m2 and under deck capacities well suited for the intended operations.

Siem Offshore did not disclose the value of the order.
