Det Norske to Complete Drilling Operations on Clapton Prospect

Det norske is as partner about to complete drilling operations on exploration well 2/8-18S on the Clapton prospect in PL 440S. The well is located about five kilometers east of Eldfisk East field and ten kilometers north of the Valhall field.

The reservoir contained no hydrocarbons of producible quantities.

This well was drilled using the Maersk Guardian jack-up rig. The rig will after completion of drilling operations in PL 440S, sail to PL 356 where it will drill exploration well 3/4-2S, with Det norske as operator.

Partners in PL 440S are, operator Faroe Petroleum 40 percent, Dana Petroleum Norway AS 20 percent, Lundin Norway AS 18 percent, Norwegian Energy Company ASA 12 percent and Det norske 10 percent.

Det norske oljeselskap ASA specializes in extracting petroleum resources on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Recently they have taken part in some major discoveries, Johan Sverdrup being the single most important. They now face several development projects, among them Jette as operator, and Draupne.

Det norske has its headquarter located in Trondheim, and offices in Oslo and Harstad.
