HSSE Complete Shore Landing of Export Cable for London Array Wind Farm

Bootle-based commercial diving and engineering specialist, Hughes Sub Surface Engineering, announces the successful completion of their latest project assisting the main contractor successfully complete the shore landing of the export cable from the London Array Wind Farm presently under construction in the Thames Estuary.

Hughes Sub Surface Engineering were engaged to assist with the landing and burial of the export cable at a demanding location close to the mouth of the River Swale, to the south east of the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. For the past 6 months their specialist team provided 24/7 support to the project assisting with the deployment and operation of the burial plough, the successful removal of lift-bags and the sea serpent, cutting and retrieval of the cable and a range of near-shore wet-rigging tasks.
