Nine Oil Companies Takes NPD's Data Package

Nine oil companies had purchased the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s seismic data package from Lofoten and Vesterålen by 23 January.

The nine oil companies are Statoil, ExxonMobil, Norske Shell, RWE Dea Norge, GDF Suez, Dong Energy, Det norske oljeselskap, Chevron Norge AS and Total E&P Norge AS.

The price of the seismic data package is NOK 43.2 million plus VAT.

The NPD acquired seismic data off Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja on assignment from the Norwegian government between 2007 and 2009. These surveys cost a total of NOK 420 million.
