Significant Contribution of City Council for Plant Project in Hull

A planning Application for building of wind turbine assembly plant at Alexandra Dock in east Hull, worth £80 million, could be submitted soon.

The project is going to be realized by the German manufacturing giant Siemens in cooperation with Associated British Ports.

Hull City Council is contributing £5 million to the project, but Steve Brady, leader of Council marks that their financial support should not be under- estimated, because the Government contributes just under £10 million.

Our £5 million is not an insignificant amount. It represents 50 per cent of the additional capital budget we announced recently and is half of what the Government has put forward. In that context, it is a very significant contribution in cash terms.” – Steve Brady says.

Hull Plant project is very important, because it could bring about 10 000 jobs to the city.
