Edward Heerema, founder and owner of the Allseas Group, received last week the IRO Utrecht Award of Excellence from IRO chairman Gert-Jan Kramer. The jury awarded him for his impressive entrepreneurship in the offshore industry with his company Allseas.
In 1985, Edward Heerema started the company Allseas, which specializes in laying pipelines offshore. He was involved in the vision, the broad outlines, but also with the details for creating the perfect technique for laying pipes in deep sea. Allseas has acquired a leading position worldwide in offshore pipe laying and is characterized by constant growth and innovation. Today Allseas operates worldwide 6 vessels: 3 dynamically positioned (DP) pipelay vessels, 1 shallow water pipelay barge and 2 support vessels. Their offices are located around the world in Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, UK, USA, Australia and India.
