Scottish Offshore Wind Companies to Showcase their Services at EWEA

Over 20 Scottish firms will join 7,500 delegates from around the world to showcase their products and services at EWEA Offshore Wind 2011.

The bi-annual event, held in Amsterdam, presents a unique opportunity to tell the world about Scotland’s leading offshore wind expertise.

At the Scotland Pavilion, supported by Scottish Development International (SDI) and Scottish Enterprise (SE), Scottish companies will unveil new products and services and deliver three days of direct access to the technology, design, research and manufacturing excellence that has allowed Scotland to lead the world in the development of offshore wind.

The event is a perfect opportunity for company executives to discuss the latest developments in Scotland and how the country’s expertise can be used in global partnerships.

The unprecedented collaboration in Scotland between public and private sectors will also be explored.

Anne MacColl, chief executive of Scottish Development International, said:

Scotland is a natural breeding ground for indigenous and international companies in the offshore wind sector.

We boast fantastic natural resources, world-class infrastructure, skills and ambition, not to mention some world leading companies with innovative products and services that are helping drive down the costs of offshore wind.
