HUSUM WindEnergy and GWEC Close Cooperation Agreement Until 2014

The international trade association Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) extended its partnership with HUSUM WindEnergy for two more trade fairs up to 2014.

The aim of this collaboration is to strengthen HUSUM WindEnergy in its position as the leading trade fair for the wind industry at international level. On 10 September 2011, the contract was signed with GWEC’s Chairman Dr. Klaus Rave, and Peter Becker, Managing Director of Messe Husum. The partnership includes joint media work and event marketing, and above all the strengthening of a global network of decision makers in government and industry. “The new cooperation agreement with GWEC until 2014 underscores the international significance of HUSUM WindEnergy,” said Peter Becker, while also stressing the continued cooperation at the national level with the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) until 2014. The partnership with GWEC has existed since 2005.

“The wind energy industry is increasingly global, and the pace of growth of new installations outside of Europe is now stronger than in Europe itself. An internationalization of the HUSUM WindEnergy trade fair is therefore in the interest of the sector, and GWEC is pleased to be able to contribute to this development,” said Dr. Klaus Rave, Chairman of GWEC. HUSUM WindEnergy takes place every two years, and is a showcase of the entire wind industry, presenting the highlights of the global sector, ranging from power engineering and turbine manufacturing to sub suppliers and consultancy services. For the world’s leading manufacturers from the US, Europe and Asia, HUSUM WindEnergy has become a fixture in the annual calendar. The trade fair has grown continuously over more than 20 years, and HUSUM WindEnergy 2012, which will take place from 18 to 22 September, is expected to be the biggest fair yet. Over 1,200 exhibitors spread over a total exhibition space of 60,000 sqm representing the entire spectrum of the wind industry will present the latest developments and innovations. In addition, a new record is emerging with trade fair visitors expected to reach 36,000.
