VSMC Secures Over EUR 150m in New Orders

Visser & Smit Marine Contracting, a VolkerWessels company, has recently signed four contracts related to the installation of cables for offshore wind parks with a combined value of over € 150 million.

This underlines the excellent qualities of VSMC as one of the leading European companies in the field of electrical energy connections for offshore, near-shore and landing projects.

The contracts cover the following projects:

 Baltic 2:

VSMC has recently signed a contract with NKT cables GmbH for the installation of 60 km export cable from the Baltic 2 Offshore wind park to the Baltic 1 Offshore wind park.

West of Duddon Sands Offshore Wind Farm:

VSMC will install two export cables, 40 km each, for Dong and ScottishPower. The project location is in the Irish Sea, close to the Walney 1 and & Walney 2 projects.

 Thornton Bank Phase 2

They have signed a contract with Deme Offshore Services for a 36 km export cable near Zeebrugge. Work will start in March 2012.

 Butendiek:

The Offshore wind farm Bürger-Butendiek is currently being built in the south-eastern part of the North Sea. VSMC has recently signed a contract with WPD for the supply, construction and installation of the Infield cables.

The above projects provide even more solid continuity in the VSMC orders portfolio, which was already quite impressive. The projects will be executed between March 2012 and the end of 2013. Talks have already commenced for new projects in 2014 and beyond.

VSMC is part of Visser & Smit Hanab, a company in the field of developing, building and maintaining connections, networks and installations for water and energy.
