Nominees Dutch Maritime Innovation Award 2011 Pronounced

Holland Shipbuilding Association has announced IHC Merwede, Ulstein Sea of Solutions and NewThex Ned BV have been nominated for the HME Maritime Innovation Award 2011. The winner will be revealed at the Maritime Awards Gala 2011.

IHC Merwede has been nominated for the Spudguard System. The system enables a cutter suction dredger to continue dredging without an anchor pole, even in waves.

Ulstein Sea of Solutions earned the nomination for a new ship design: SOC 5000.

NewThex Ned BV has developed a new closing system for doors in the offshore, marine and shipbuilding industry, for which it is now nominated.

Maritime Innovation Award 2011

Every year, the HME Maritime Innovation Award is presented to the most innovative maritime supplier of the Netherlands. The award is presented at the Maritime Awards Gala that takes place on Thursday 3 November at Studio 21 in Hilversum, the Netherlands. During the event, four other awards will be presented: the KNVTS Ship of the Year Award, the KVNR Shipping Award, the HISWA Excellence Award and the VNSI-Timmersprijs.
