Maersk Oil’s FPSO Gryphon to be docked at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam

Maersk Oil North Sea UK Limited Gryphon Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel is expected to arrive in Rotterdam this weekend for repairs after suffering damage during a storm in the UK North Sea in February.

The FPSO had been producing from the Gryphon, Maclure and Tullich fields. Storm weather caused some of its anchor chains to snap, allowing it to move off station before the vessel was secured again. The Gryphon will be prepared in the Calandkanaal for docking. When the preparation is finished the Gryphon will be docked for repairs at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam’s yard in Schiedam. It is expected that the Gryphon will return to the field in 2012.
