VOSTA LMG designs 5000 m3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge

VOSTA LMG received the order for an engineering and component package for a 5000 m3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge commissioned by Chinese Huanghua Port. The dredge will be built at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co, Ltd., Shanghai. VOSTA LMG does the basic design work and supplies the complete dredging system. Delivery of the dredge will be in 2004.

VOSTA LMG is pleased to have won this order, as it is the first Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge reference for the company in China.  In the past various Cutter Suction Dredges have been ordered by Chinese customers of which most were built in China with partner shipyards.

The Hopper Dredge will be mainly used for maintenance dredging in China, however has most modern capabilities for capital dredging as well.
